Initial Visit – What to Expect:

Many people feel a bit apprehensive about seeing a psychologist. They may feel it signifies that they are “crazy.” The truth of the matter is that everyone has challenges and there is nothing wrong with reaching for help to increase your sense of support and understanding.

The first session is the intake which is 90 minutes with the purpose assessing your presenting issues and background. It is also an opportunity to ask questions before proceeding. The subsequent sessions after the intake are 50 minutes each. Throughout treatment we are collaboratively assessing progress and treatment according to objectives we set in the beginning. The number of sessions can be determined based upon the presenting issues and treatment progress.
